The Spark: A Lifelong Mission for Healing
When I was just 12 years old, my father suffered a massive heart attack, and we almost lost him. That experience sparked a lifelong passion to understand what causes heart disease and, more importantly, how it can be prevented and even reversed.
The Power of Epigenetics and Lifestyle Choices
That journey led me to study preventive medicine and optimal health. I discovered that while genetics certainly play a role, our lifestyle choices, beliefs, and daily habits have an even greater influence on our health. Today, the science of epigenetics supports what many holistic traditions have taught for centuries: our environment, behaviors, and experiences can influence how our genes are expressed.
It is Never Too Late to Heal
I believe we all have the ability to live longer, healthier, and more vibrant lives by making conscious choices. Our quality of life is shaped not only by nutrition and exercise but also by our perceptions, relationships, stress levels, and the thoughts we consistently think. The wonderful news is that the human body possesses an extraordinary capacity to heal and repair itself. Regardless of your age, it is never too late to improve your health and well-being.
Nurturing the Whole Person: Body, Mind, and Spirit
My educational and professional background reflects my belief that true wellness must address the whole person: body, mind, emotions, and spirit. These dimensions are deeply interconnected, and lasting health comes from nurturing each of them.
My Roots in Public Health and Science
I began my career as a health educator, teaching programs on heart disease prevention and smoking cessation. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Science with an emphasis in Community Health Education and Public Health, followed by a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition.
My curiosity about the connection between the mind and the body led me to study biofeedback, psychology, stress management, and the healing effects of our thoughts and emotions. This naturally evolved into a lifelong study of yoga, meditation, and spirituality.
